The article offers a guide for the course approval and development process of a sports medicine class. Essential steps are to determine one's eligibility as a teacher, finding the best department, and seeking support. The ideas that students should be proficient in by the time they leave the class are good study habits, understanding of basic medical terminology, basic anatomy and physiology, basic taping and wrapping skills, ability to write at a college level, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid training, and critical thinking skills. |
