We investigate the properties of the insulator surface or the properties of environment by charging insulator with needle shape electrode and measuring kinetics of depositing charge on to the insulator. Deposited on the insulator surface ions may move or may be immobile. However, even if ions on the insulating layer surface are immobile, the parallel electric field strength component causes same deposited charge distribution on the insulator surface. The charge distribution changes occurred, if the ions can move on the specimen surface due to the specimen properties. To investigate the specimen surface properties, we must know the charge distribution on the surface in the absence of surface charge carrier mobility. In this paper the latter problem is dealt with theoretically calculated charge distribution on the insulator surface when deposited charge mobility is zero. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
