Abstrakt: This article discusses the chairmen the Carolinian Association has had since it was founded in in Sweden in 1910. Prince Charles was the first chairman, from 1910 to 1925. After 15 years as chairman, he resigned and Carl Hallendorff took over. Hallendorff was a history professor, specializing in the Carolinian era. When Hallendorff died in 1929, Helge Almqvist succeeded him. All of the chairmen since Prince Charles have been historians. Nils Ahnlund took over after Almqvist died. Sven Grauers followed after Ahnlund. Stig Jagerskiold replaced Grauers in 1973 and served as chairman until 1989. Unlike the chairmen before him, he chose a professional career as a lawyer, even though he had a history background.
