The article discusses a study of Sword Temporal Therapy's effectivity in treating post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The therapy was developed by Dr. Richard Sword, together with Dr. Philip Zimbardo. Dr. Sword brought together of PTSD disabled war veterans based in Maui, Hawaii, while Dr. Zimbardo brought in Anthony Ferreras and Sarah Brunskill, graduate researchers/independent observers from San Francisco State University. The study used a methodology that includes a component of critical thinking, and aims to develop and encourage a positive relationship with the claims process for the veterans. The author promotes education in the U.S. in order to deal with poverty, which is one of the factors leaving the veterans with a sense of hopelessness. |
