The author comments on the referendum in Sudan in which people will determine whether to withdraw from the North. She notes that the referendum was overdue because it was set six year ago when a comprehensive peace agreement was signed. She adds that it is what Sudanese in the North wanted to achieve sovereignty in a nation where wealth and power are equally distributed. She criticizes Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir for proposing to change the constitution in the North and impose Sharia law on the eve of the referendum. |
