Abstrakt: The article focuses on the significance of sacred tobacco in the spiritual world of American Indians who oppose on the confiscation of tobacco of military authorities. President Wilfrid Cleveland of Ho-Chunk Nation says that they smoke tobacco not for leisure but because they treat it as a blessing from the Creator. Meanwhile, it mentions that the tobacco of Marine Corporal James Pettibone has been confiscated at the Camp Lejeune in North Carolina because it resembled an illicit drug in 1978.
