The article presents a comparison between the physical examination findings by physical therapists (PT) and by physiatrist (MD) in women who are suffering from chronic pelvic pain (CPP). This study found that PTs and MDs have similar findings when participants were examined. The examination conducted by PTs reached a sensitivity of 68.4% and specificity of 93.1% while the examination done by MDs reached a sensitivity of 68.4% and specificity of 69%. The study concludes that PTs and MDs succeed in identifying women with self-reported CPP. |
