Abstrakt:	This article reviews folklore scholar Yamaji's second collection of papers focusing on folk arts and customs, such as the Gion Festival, in Kyoto, Japan. Yamaji's study on the Gion Goryo-e highlights his characteristic approach of combining his specialty, folklore, with history.
