Abstrakt: The article examines the emergence of the Tea Party movement in the U.S. The comeback of right-wing political forces in the country is attributed to the role of President Barack Obama as defender of capitalist interests. One major factor in the rise of the movement is the failure of union and community leaders to launch their own militant critiques of the policies of Democrats and Republicans. The need for a revolutionary party leadership within a rising working-class movement of opposition is emphasized.
