| Abstrakt: | A translation is presented of an autobiographical article by the Russian German Wendelin Mayer, published in the June 18, 1914 issue of the German-language newspaper "Der Staats-Anzeiger." His family and childhood among poor German farmers in the Russian Empire are discussed, as are his own experiences as a farmer, teacher, and father. |
