Abstrakt: The article offers the author's argument on the credibility of the Waitangi Tribunal and its abolishment. The author says that New Zealanders viewed the tribunal as a chamber that operates without democratic accountability standards. She adds that the tribunal also operates without the process of professional cross-examination in the settlement of claims between Maori and the Crown. She also argues that some claims are genuine, while some are opportunistic.
