The article discusses the use of scleral and mini-scleral contact lenses for patients with irregular corneas, including those with a history of penetrating keratoplasty, dry eye and keratoconus. It cites several cases where scleral and mini-scleral lenses could be used as an alternative including in patients with Salzmann's nodular degeneration, granular dystrophy and severe dry eyes. Scleral contact lenses could also be used in patients with post-penetrating keratoplasty. |
