Abstrakt: The article profiles British art director Carmen Dillon. She was born in Cricklewood, London, England in 1908. She studied architecture at New Hall Convent in Essex. She became an actress and designer for amateur dramatics, and won an Academy Award for "Hamlet" in 1948. Her films include "The Five Pound Man," "Quiet Wedding," and "A Tale of Two Cities."
