The article offers exercise tips for runners during their recovery days. According to exercise physiologist Ben Wisbey, recovery days are important in realizing a runner's full potential. He notes that an easy run during a recovery day allows the body to freshen up while undertaking light aerobic activity. He recommends doing an easy run after a tempo run, speed workout or hill repeats. Running coach Jim MacWhinnie recommends limiting cross-training sessions to 30 to 60 minutes. Also recommended is total rest once a week, ideally after a long run. |
