The article focuses on the automotive applications of MuCell microcellular foaming process for injection molding developed by the firm Trexel. MuCell is being used in the integrated sunroof module of the Cadillac CTS automobile to create a one-piece frame. MuCell has eliminated the need for laser cutting in creating airbag covers. The automobile spare parts manufacturer ElringKlinger used MuCell in molding engine-valve covers for Volkswagen 1.6 and 2.0-liter engines. |
