| Abstrakt: |
The author reflects on metagenomics, the new field of research in Colombia, which analyzes the microbial diversity of different ecological microorganisms. He argues that the gulf with national industry is one greatest weakness of the policy behind metagenomic initiatives in Colombia. An overview of the several state-financed projects conducted by the research centers of the country is offered. The author suggests that there is a need of a greater state and political will. |
