| Abstrakt: | The article discusses drummer Matt Cameron's parts in several tracks from musicians such as Soundgarden and Pearl Jam. His interplay with Kim Thayil's guitar riffs in the 1987 Soundgarden song "Hand of God" is described. The 1991 song "Wooden Jesus" by Temple of the Dog is given as an example of how Cameron brings an unorthodox feel to traditional time signatures. The back-beat and half-time groove he employed in the 2009 Pearl Jam track "Supersonic" is also examined. |
