| Abstrakt: |
The article reports on an increase in the number of legal practitioners who are charged with misconduct due to their failure to respond to a request from the Legal Services Commissioner for an explanation of their conduct in relation to a disciplinary complaint in Victoria. It says that the Legal Profession Act 2004 gives the commissioner the power to investigate the conduct of a practitioner. An overview of the appropriate penalties is offered. |
