This article presents a study which examined the ruggedness of the tube suction test (TST), which was developed for assessing the moisture/frost susceptibility of granular base materials. Factors examined in the study include air temperature, mixing and soaking water salinity, and dielectric probe seating force. The research findings are discussed, as well as recommendations for improving the interlaboratory reproducibility of the TST. |
