Abstrakt: This article presents a study which examined Cold Weather Admixture Systems (CWAS), an innovative approach to conventional cold weather concreting. The technique has developed the tools to mix, place, finish and cure concrete at below freezing temperatures. It uses a number of chemical admixtures to lower the freezing point of the water in the mix. The details of the field demonstration conducted for CWAS are discussed as well as the outcome of the project.
