The article presents the author's views on the competition among hospitals to get the newest technology and the effect it has on patients. He mentions Cape Fear Medical Center, the Mayo Clinic, and Hampton University as examples of institutions that implemented new technologies. He cites articles in "The New York Times" on December 26,2007, "The Wall Street Journal" and "New England Journal of Medicine" on August 9, 2009 which claim that proper training is still needed to operate medical equipment for it to be effective. |
