The article describes the factors involved in skin phototoxicity and offers solution to the condition. Among the adverse cutaneous reactions to the ultraviolet radiation are dry coarse epidermal changes, wrinkles, and loss of skin elasticity. Protomorphogens for skin, hair, and nail case, antioxidants, and oral sun-blockers are some recommended practices for skin care. Studies confirmed that most sunscreen products do not provide efficient sun protection. Using zinc as a primary ingredient for products is suggested to prevent solar skin damage. |
