An interview with Rabbi Simeon Schreiber, author of the upcoming book "A Caring Presence: Bringing the Gift of Hope, Comfort and Courage" is presented. When asked how the mitzvah of visiting the sick affect the visit itself, he says that it changes the perspective and tone of the visit. Rabbi Schreiber believes that the common mistakes visitors make are not inquiring if it is okay to visit, not washing hands before and after the visit, and talking too loud and staying too long. He comments on why his book includes a chapter on shiva call. |
