The article focuses on the alternative educational program in Alberta. It mentions that the public education in Alberta used to be universal, but, since Ralph Klien took office in 1992 the regions's K-12 education system has been changed. It notes that the increase of school choice in Alberta began in the 1970s, when Edmonton Public School Board (EPSB) was authorized by the government to institute open boundaries, where parents can send their children to any school as long as their was room. |
