| Abstrakt: |
The article discusses the challenges facing ambulatory surgical centers (ASCs). Due to Medicare budget cuts, surgeons cannot reimburse their current rates and are experiencing more work and less revenue. It suggests that investing in new technology to decrease the amount of time of a procedure will allow ASCs to remain financially viable. It talks about several new phaco machines in the market such as Alcon's Infiniti system, the Whitestar technology of Abbott Medical Optics, and the Stellaris of Bausch+Lomb. |
