The article describes a data-driven approach to decrease the incidence of retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) among premature infants in the newborn intensive care unit (NICU). The systematic approach includes interventions such as the creation of standardized practice environment using a nursing practice guideline, mandatory staff education, and optimization of nursing assignments. The approach also focuses on improving oxygen administration and monitoring. |
