Abstrakt: The article discusses a study on the lung cancer cell line A549 to confirm the existence of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), that may be used as biomarkers in the diagnosis of lung cancer. The VOCs are detected in cell cultures and in the transformation of cells, following thermodesorption and gas chromatography mass spectrometry. A variety of aldehydes and acetates may be seen in the headspace of transformed cells than in A549 cells.
