Abstrakt: The article presents research which examined the use of serum mass spectrometry in detecting tumor epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) pathway dependence in cancer patients. The researchers analyzed pretreatment plasma or serum from 230 patients who have undergone chemotherapy or treatment with cetuximab. They found that serum proteomic profiling is effective in diagnosing significant tumor dependence on the pathway of EGFR in people who are suffering from non-small cell lung cancer.
