The article discusses the author's composition titled "Note Worthy," which is the opening tune of his music release "Andy LaVerne's One of a Kind at the Kitano," Volume 1. The author notes that the tune is fun to play because of shifting harmonic structure and it can be played at various tempos, from a slow swing to an up tempo burn. He adds that the composition has an unintended similarity with Charlie Parker's "Blues for Alice," particularly the first three measures. The musical notation for the solo piano version and solo improvisation are provided. |
