The article presents tributes from the members of the Elgar Society in Great Britain for former president Richard Hickox. According to Steven Halls, the last time he saw Hickox was when he came to lunch in Bingham, following a performance in Nottingham. It adds that Hickox was a man of action who recognized the importance of fund-raising to contemporary music-making and a champion of British music that made him a pioneer and an ambassador. |
