| Abstrakt: |
The article focuses on a study on the relationship between dental caries and caries forming oral microflora including Lactobacillus and Streptococcus mutans (S. mutans). In the study schoolchildren of age group 12-13 years were studied for salivary buffer capacity, salivary flow rate, number of colony forming units CFU/ml of S. mutans and Lactobacillus, and sugar ingestion. Relation between microflora and caries development was shown, however diet intake affected growth of oral flora. |
