Abstrakt: The article presents a study which investigates the factors involved in the discoloration of 12 gold-silver-platinum dental alloy. The study evaluates the luminance of cast clasps, oral conditions, the presence of cariogenic microbes, and the amount of volatile sulfur compounds (VSC) produced by the tongue coating in 70 subjects. It reveals that the production of VSC was the most significantly related factor to the discoloration of dental alloys among the many different factors.
