The article presents highlights of the third symposium on strain-based design for pipelines, which was held during the 2009 International Society of Offshore and Polar Engineers (ISOPE) conference in Osaka, Japan. Among issues addressed at the conference were the materials and design challenges relating to strain-based design. International experts in materials, pipeline design, analysis and construction participated in sessions covering the progress towards strain-based design pipeline capacity and demand. |
