The article discusses a study that assessed the validity of mechanical properties measurement by instrumented indentation technique (IIT) in an American Petroleum Industry (API) grade steel weldment. It compared the flow strength measured with the results from uniaxial tensile testing. It also discussed the use of the AIS2100 instrumented indentation tester developed by Frontics Co. to the evaluation of compatibility of a weldment of industrial equipment and to the pre-qualification test. |
