The article presents the results of the study that investigated the correlations between material properties and material designs of friction stir welding (FSW) tool materials and their corresponding interactions with ultra-hard particles. The study is important because the performance of the FSW materials mainly depends on the design of material system. FSW is widely used in various applications including oil and gas drilling, oil pipelines and nuclear industries. |
