Abstrakt: The article discusses a study that investigated a variable liquid column oscillator (VLCO) which is a highly efficient ocean wave energy extracting device of the surface following type. According to the article, the VLCO structure is analogous to the tuned liquid column damper used for oscillatory motion suppression in large structures such as cargo ships and tall buildings. It concluded that VLCO is the most effective mode for the extraction of energy from the ocean wave.
