This section offers news briefs on the U.S. Armed Forces as of July 2010. It notes that the usual three-day trial for the systems of the Navy destroyer Gravely will be suspended due to the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Artist Abbe Godwin has created a mock-up of a memorial sculpture honoring the Navy corpsmen which depicts a corpsman attending to a wounded Marine during incoming fire. The Army has issued rules that prohibit soldiers from wearing the new Operation Enduring Freedom Camouflage Pattern uniforms in places other than Afghanistan. |
