The article discusses research on the gonopore and spermatophore morphology of Pagurus exilis or the southwestern-Atlantic hermit crab. It references a study by Marcelo A. Scelzo at the Universidad Nacional de Mar del Plata Departamento de Ciencias Marinas in Argentina, and his colleagues, published in an issue of "Zoological Studies." The researchers obtained and examined hermit crabs from the areas of Ubatuba in São Paulo, Brazil, as well as Mar Chiquita and Mar del Plata in Buenos Aires, Argentina. They found no difference in the spermatophore external morphology between the examined species from the regions of Brazil and Argentina. |
