Abstrakt: The article discusses the history of the pedagogical methods in the school system of France and efforts to develop similar practices in non-French countries in the 19th and early 20th centuries. The article describes the development of primary, secondary, and professional educational programs in France, the creation of missions societies focusing on planting educational programs and institutions outside France, and the circulation of pedagogical ideas through such journals as "Revue pédagogique," and "Revue internationale de l'enseignement."
