Abstrakt: The article offers information on a study which investigated the correlation between serum levels of adinopectin and leptin with various insulin sensitivity and insulin-like growth factors (IGF) in prepuberal small for gestational age (SGA) children with and without catch-up growth. The study also examined whether adinopectin and leptin can be used as early markers of insulin resistance. The differences in the leptin levels between the SGA group and the appropriate for gestational age (AGA) group are explained.
