The article reports on the rise of desalination plants in Australia. It mentions that the first desalination plant in the country was constructed in the coast city of Perth in 2007 by the joint venture of Multiplex-Degremont and Water Corp. In Queensland, Veolia/John Holland joint venture constructed a plant near Gold Coat airport, while Sydney Water Corp. built one of the world's largest reverse osmosis (RO) desalination plant. Also discussed are other desalination plants found in the country. |
