Abstrakt: Although efforts are currently being made to ban the use and importation of dangerous skin bleaching agents in countries throughout Africa, products are still somehow making their way into nations like Tanzania. The paper discusses the Tanzanian response to dangerous skin bleaching practices and products as well as the gendered politics that align with this approach. It also analyzes the effectiveness of these responses, and presents an empirically validated strategy to address the dangerous uses of skin bleaching creams that can be valuable for Tanzania and other nations across the globe affected with skin bleaching.
