Abstrakt: The article presents a study relative to the geomorphology of palaeolakes in Botswana and the nature of such lakes in relation to the Gidikwe mountain ridge. It states several methods used in the study including the analysis of data obtained from the Shuttle Radar Topographic Mission (SRTM) which provides an in-depth information on the contours of chosen research locations. Results of the study reveal the nature of dry river valleys that flow towards palaeolakes such as Okwa, Deception and Passarge. It also asserts that a new ridge formation relative to the Gidikwe ridge has been identified and is 40-50 meters higher than Gidikwe. Moreover, it concludes that the formation is an evidence of the nature of lake Deception as a palaeolake which is comparable to Lake Palaeo-Makgadikgadi.
