Abstrakt:	The author examines the history of the distribution of French language literature(s) within Québec and the way that this literature has had a mutual relationship with French literature from France. School French Literature text books that students used in Québec, beginning in the 19th century, are examined. The gradual development of Québecois literature as a course of study is described. Topics such as the place of immigrants to Québec in Québecois literature are also discussed.
