The article shares rituals for fathers who are challenged about giving up driving to their children, with emphasis on the case of 85-year-old Ben who has complications but keeps driving. There is a cited need for Ben to accept interdependence with the support of family and friends to help him get around. Adult children are advised to create a sanctuary for their parents by placing something to sit in comfortably in a space and imagining the things that give one comfort and inspiration. |
