The article offers information on Bikes for Haiti, a project being promoted by Jim Rohrssen which aims to offer inexpensive bicycles while also fostering goodwill to the Haitian community. Rohrssen also coordinated a program entitled "Bikes for the Bayou" which assisted those affected by Hurricane Katrina by offering them a means to travel to and from jobs, to stores and to visit friends and family members. Rohrssen's ideal for Bikes for Haiti is giving bikes to those who need them the most but cannot afford one. |
