Faculty Development and Adult Learning: A Model for Transforming Higher Education.

Abstrakt: The article discusses a model for transforming higher education through faculty development and adult learning in the U.S. The authors noted the challenges they faced in developing such model, which was self-reflective of the assumptions of the faculty. Further, the authors used an inquiry approach that is placed in personal and professional experience. These allowed them to question the assumptions that supported teaching practices. As a result, the authors discovered that the process has challenged their own assumptions, teaching methods and theoretical understandings.
