The article presents information about the history of the Zuiderzeemuseum in Enkhuizen, the Netherlands. It is noted that the Dutch department of Education, Science, and Cultural Protection arranged for the opening of a museum for the exhibition of artifacts related to the Zuidersee, a shallow bay of the North Sea in the northwest of the Netherlands. Particular emphasis is placed on the architectural contributions of Dutch government official and museum director S. J. Bouma. Further comments are given regarding the cooperation of Bouma with two other Dutch cultural officials, J. K. van der Haagen, and H. E. van Gelder. |
