The Balanced Budget Act {BB A) of 1997 was one of the most significant acts of legislation ever to affect the physical iherapy profession. Three months after the BBA was implemented, a survey of over 600 physical therapists in the stale of Florida was conducted. This article examines ihe immediate impact of the BB A on physical therapists and their ability--or their percepiion of their ability--to maintain or successfully seek full-lime employment in the profession.
