Abstrakt: The article explores the history of the Spirella Corset Company during its presence in Niagara Falls, New York. The author reflects on the development of a corset stay made of spiraled wire by inventor Marcus M. Beeman and the establishment of the company with partners William Wallace Kincaid and J. H. Pardee. It is suggested that the company offered progressive employment opportunities for women. Other topics include the use of motion pictures for training, corporate sporting activities, and celebrity clients such as Mae West and Margaret Dumont.
